1700°C & 1800°C Bottom Loading Furnaces

Carbolite's innovative high temperature, bottom loading furnaces are available with maximum working temperatures of 1700°C and 1800°C. These furnaces are ideal for firing and sintering advanced ceramics and high temperature glass melting. Heating elements positioned on all sides of the hexagon-shaped chamber promote excellent uniformity.

These furnaces include long-life molybdenum disilicide heating elements that are suitable for intermittent or continuous operation. The large diameter heating elements substantially reduce the potential for mechanical breakage, and their resistance does not change with usage, providing no restrictions on the placement of new elements in circuit with older elements. Advanced high temperature, high strength hot face insulation and graded low thermal mass insulation boost thermal performance and improve overall energy efficiency.

Our 1700°C bottom loading furnaces feature 3.4, 7.9, or 21 liter chamber capacities; 1800°C models feature 3.4 or 7.9 liter capacity. Electrically operated elevator hearths ensure operator safety and prevent direct heat radiation from chamber walls. This also allows for smooth, convenient loading of work pieces and enables both heavy and delicate loads to be handled easily. All bottom loading furnace models are equipped with our 3216P1 programmable controller and an independent over-temperature protection controls controller.

Carbolite's 1700°C & 1800°C Bottom Loading Furnaces Feature:

  • Fast sample heating and cooling achieved by raising or lowering the work piece from the furnace chamber.
  • Fan cooling to maintain low temperatures of outer case and critical components.
  • Safety switches which cut power to the heating elements when hearth is lowered.
  • Vented chambers for expulsion of process exhaust.
  • Optional gas containment cover allows processing in high purity inert atmospheres.
  • Optional protective alumina liner available for aggressive processes that may harm elements or insulation materials.
  • Furnaces designed to operate on either 208 or 240 V, three phase design.
